Our department promotes human well-being by strengthening opportunities, resources, and capacities of people in their environments, and it works to reduce discrimination and oppression. Our work is based on the values of service, social and economic justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity and competence in practice. With these values as defining principles, our purposes are:

• To enhance human well-being and alleviate oppression, and other forms of social injustice.
• To enhance the social functioning and interactions of individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities by involving them in accomplishing goals, developing resources and preventing and alleviating distress.
• To formulate and implement social policies, services, and programs that meet basic human needs and support the development of human capacities.
• To practice without discrimination with respect and with knowledge and skills related to clients age, class, color, culture, disability, ethnicity, family structure, gender, marital status, national origin, race, religion and sex.

• To promote healthy behavior among individuals in the local community , through health and social awareness sessions.

We regard to the principles of privacy, confidentiality, and responsible use of information in our professional work, and generally expect patients to take responsibility, in collaboration with us, for determining courses of action affecting their lives.

Furthermore, we have ethical responsibilities to patients, colleagues, practice settings, professionals, the profession, and the broader society.

Our team knows, understands, and works competently with the diversity of people within the region. Moreover, we are extremely devoted to handling community social and health related problems through a series of programs aimed at sustainable development of welfare of the local community. We do so by planning, organizing, and administering services.
