The Operations Department, which is the backbone of the directorate, consists of
four divisions as follows:

Warehouse Division
The Warehouse is a centralized system for purchasing and delivering supplies to
all our
centers
. It is operated by the Warehouse Supervisor. His duties consist of purchasing
all medical, dental, cleaning, mechanical and stationary supplies for DHSS. The
Items are all entered on the In-house developed and programmed Electronic Stock
System. Orders from the centers are all done On-line and with most of them
delivered the next business day.
Other Duties consists of running the assets of all the centers. This is also
done on the In-house developed and programmed Fixed Assets System.
Getting offers and keeping with changes in market prices is also an important
duty of the Warehouse Supervisor.

Maintenance Division
This division is operated by one Maintenance supervisor and five maintenance
technicians. Three technicians are stationed in Beirut covering the areas of
Greater Beirut
and the
South
. One technician is stationed in Tripoli and one in Old Akkar.
Their duties consist of preventive, routine and emergency maintenance part of
which are keeping and maintaining our 17 electrical generator units in all our
centers, supervising the repairs done by outside contractors on our medical
equipments, making sure all our HAVC units are in good running condition and
any other maintenance requirements as need arises.
Preventive maintenance is the key to avoid any unscheduled breakdown, and this
is what we stress on in this Division

Transportation Division
Our fleet of vehicles consists of two mini-vans (Ford and Mazda), one mini
cargo car (Citroen), One Ambulance (Nissan Patrol) and two mobile dispensaries
(GMC). They are managed by Our Maintenance Supervisor and operated by five
drivers.
We have daily routes covering Greater Beirut and the South. We have one route
running twice per week between Beirut and Tripoli and one route running three
times per week between Old Akkar and Tripoli.
Duties consists of delivering mail and supplies to all centers, providing
transport to patients in need of such a service, phlebotomy services and moving
staff when required.
The two dispensaries are deployed as needs arise to areas where citizens need
help in time of distress.

Security Division
Security is taken very seriously at DHSS. We currently have Tarik Al- Jadidah,
Aramoun and CT & MRI Centers covered by 24 hours security guards. The other
centers are protected electronically by state of the art intrusion systems with
automatic dialing features upon intrusion.
The staff consists of a Security Supervisor and 10 guards working to ensure the
safety and security of all staff and patients in all our centers.
